The beaches at Valras Plage, Sérignan Plage and Narbonne Plage are all very suitable for children and a quieter option to the beaches closer to Cap d’Agde.
They have sheltered bathing areas for children and Valras Plage has some great play equipment on the beach.
For ‘all the fun of the fair’ head to Cap d’Agde with the fabulous ‘Aqualand’ water sports park as well as plenty of water sports, boat trips, a beautiful harbour, golf, casino, fashionable shopping, nightclubs, waterfront restaurants and several children’s theme parks.
At Vias Plage, there is a funfair open during July and August called Europark which is very popular with teenagers.
Narbonne Plage
15 km from Narbonne after passing through the picturesque mountain of Clape, you will discover at the foot of the hills, the charming seaside resort of Narbonne-Plage – also known as “Côte des Roses”.
Gruissan Plage
Not as well known as the likes of Valras and Narbonne, but the tiny village and hill by the sea are very charming. Most restaurants are open only between Easter and the end of September, so plan ahead!
Valras Plage
One of the bigger beach resorts, miles of sandy beaches and plenty play equipment for youngsters on the beach. There are loads of quality restaurants and bars along the beach (competition being stiff) and some good shopping. Valras Plage is very busy in summer, but puts on some form of entertainment almost every day or evening. The Tourist Office by the beach can furnish you with a leaflet listing all the events.
