Our second stay in this beautiful home. Spacious, spotless, tastefully furnished. Perfect for our group of family and friends of all ages. Lovely to eat all our meals in the enclosed courtyard. The kids loved the pool!
Excellent location – amongst picturesque vineyards, ancient villages, beautiful wooded hills. Endless daytrip possibilities, but great trail walks from the door too.
Very highly recommended. Hope to return!
Thanks so much!
We have just returned from our second stay at Maison Cruzy and cannot recommend it enough. The house barn and pool are all great. All so clean and welcoming. The pictures don’t do it justice.
The village is in a great location too.
Great for a big family as there is so much space in the house.
Love it and will be going again.
The house was even better than shown in the photos. Spacious, clean, tastefully decorated, well equipped, and in a lovely little village with everything you need nearby. We could have spent all week not leaving the village but there are so many lovely towns and villages nearby that it’s worth exploring a bit.
We were a family group spanning three generations with young children, and the layout of bedrooms and bathrooms was ideal. Also a bonus to have air con units or fans in the bedrooms.
We would love to return and would definitely recommend this house to others.

“Loved it!”
Reviewed 5 weeks ago for a stay in June 2015
I spent 3 weeks in Maison Cruzy with 3 friends from Australia. The home is spacious warm and welcoming. House is well equipped, the owners have everything covered even baskets and freezer bricks for the wonderful local village markets excursions! There are many wonderful walks through vineyards and countryside close by. The pool is perfect. The village Cruzy has excellent butcher and baker. We enjoyed morning coffee at the tabac with the local farmers. We explored the area, from Marseille to Collieure and enjoyed many wonderful meals of local produce at home under the sun & stars in Maison Cruzy. I would highly recommend Maison Cruzy to couples, families or groups. It’s a large comfortable home beautifully furnished & suitable for all. Hope to return.

Very easy and fuss-free; questions asked were quickly answered by Paddy. Our subsequent booking was made and deposits, payment, security bonds and such were easily arranged too. A few days prior to our booking Paddy e-mailed plenty of information regarding the house itself and further info about places to visit and such. All very helpful stuff indeed. Following our arrival, Emer called to ensure that we’d arrived safely and to give us plenty of additional info that proved very useful during our stay.Maison Cruzy:This wonderful house totally suited our needs as a party of 7 adults made up of 3 couples (one with an infant) and a teenager. We all loved it, without reservation. As I alluded to in the first paragraph it would be easy to go on and on but this is simply not necessary; Mason Cruzy has it all! In spades! From the spacious accommodation inside extending to the brilliant ‘games barn’ and pool area, all fantastic, well appointed and proportioned.
Other points:
Rather than take time to recommend local cities, towns and villages to visit, of which there are many (and we certainly did not scratch the surface in the time we were there) we would simply say that the village of Cruzy itself was fabulous; we availed ourselves of the bakery daily; laughs had and smiles exchanged in trying to use what little French we knew, but getting there in the end with smiles all round. The two minute walk back ‘home’ with armfuls of warm baguettes or whatever delights were on offer that morning were the start of most days for us as a result! Oh, and the loudspeaker call by the Mayor to announce whoever had arrived that day, be it the fruiterer or the fish van… most useful, too! Cruzy is a lovely place to walk about; the locals really friendly.
We’d heartily recommend Maison Cruzy not just for what is a beautiful property in a wonderful village in a fantastic region, but also for the completeness of the experience; the attention of Paddy, Emer and the team. 5 stars all round.”

“Amazing House, Fabulous area, The Best!
Left on 07/04/2013 for a stay in July 2013
We stayed in Maison Cruzy for two weeks. Two families. Four kids. Total heaven. Details as follows:
Booking Process and Support: Very easy. Paddy is extremely responsive, and provided lots of great information and tips prior to our arrival. His support team on the ground are great, in that they do what needs to be done (house cleaning, pool cleaning etc.) efficiently and absolutely unobtrusively.
The house: Beautiful, well presented, huge, generally lovely. Even with two families here, we had tons of space to bounce around in. The pool is super: sparkling, private, and perfect for summer. The barn is amazing for kids. Badminton, ping-pong, etc. We loved the courtyard for dining, and had a great kitchen to cook in. I seriously lost count of the number of bedrooms and bathrooms available to us, and the master suite is just gorgeous. Everything is decorated cleanly and tastefully, and equipped for pretty-much any need. Lots of dvds, good books, easy wifi access. Wow!
Location: We had never visited this area of France before but we’ll definitely be back. Maison Cruzy is bang in the middle of Cruzy village, with a Tabac, Boulangerie, Boucherie, Pharmacie, all making for a really nice, vibrant atmosphere. There was a small music festival while we were visiting, and everyone is very friendly (especially if you have a go at speaking just a little French.)
The village is surrounded by stunning countryside, other great villages, and vineyards everywhere, Lots of interesting sites to visit, including Carcassonne and Narbonne (which has a truly worl-dclass market.)
Our favourite place to visit quickly became Gruissan, just south of Narbonne. A beautiful fishing village, now vibrant with cafes, shops, etc. It also had our favourite beach (although there are plenty to choose from, and to suit every taste.) (Oh, and Betty Blue was filmed here!)
There are a couple of very good restaurants very close to Cruzy, and plenty more within 20-minutes drive.
The climate was super during our visit. Golden, summery days, blue skies, happy people. The couple of cloudy days gave us the chance to explore some of the great many local historical sights.
Summary: the most relaxing and wonderful vacation we’ve had in a long time. The kids had a blast. The adults had a blast. If in doubt, book it!
Thank you, Paddy. We’ll be back.”
“Superb family house and superb location- thanks for a fabulous holiday.

In spite of a late arrival with small very tired kids and a small miscommunication on key location to gain access to the property (promptly sorted by local rep ‘Jess’), we were all thrilled when we saw inside Maison Cruzy. It is an extremely spacious and light property very tastefully decked out to a high standard. There were 4 double bedrooms, 2 of which had adjoining rooms with daybed – ideal for families and 3 bathrooms all kitted out with power showers. There are 2 sitting rooms with an expansive selection of Dvd’s for both kids & adults which was a godsend on the bad weather days. The property has a fantastic layout with a small walled courtyard attached to kitchen – ideal for al fresco dining, leading on to a massive barn which was a haven for the kids (and adults too!) during our stay. Filled with badminton court, table tennis, pool table, darts, boxing bag… We had lots of fun playing in here and even did a ‘mini Olympics’ for the kids. There are many bikes and helmets available to use and although not ideal for small children, the adults had a wonderful time doing some road biking in the beautiful surrounding villages and vineyards. The pool is set within a high walled garden, gets the sun all day and yet is well protected from any wind. It was unseasonably cool during our stay and the pool is not heated but this didn’t seem to prevent the kids from enjoying a splash.
Cruzy is a small town but had a local boulangerie for fresh croissants/bread each morning as well as a small grocery store. There are a couple of lovely restaurants within the locality 10 drive away, Terminus highly recommended. The surrounding areas are fantastic – there really is something for everyone… 1/2 hr drive from beaches, 45 mins from Carcassonne, vineyards everywhere, roquebrun for mountains, walking & kayaking and some of the best road biking we’ve ever done! Paddy, Emer, Jess & Miles were very accessible and helpful with lots of a advice/recommendations. A superb holiday!”
“Off peak family break
Left on 03/29/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had a week at Maison Cruzy in mid March (with our 3 children), which was absolutely lovely. Despite it not being hot and sunny, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and spent many hours just reading, watching Dvds and playing games…as well as taking full advantage of the culinary delights that the region has to offer.
The house is home from home and Paddy and Emer made every effort for it to be an utterly stress free stay, giving us loads of tips on places to eat and see. The house is extremely well equipped and the play barn was a huge it too.
We would love to return to the house and will recommend it to friends and family.
We had a lovely, chilled family break in preparation for returning to our usual hectic lives. Thank you!”

“If you think the photos look good – wait ’til you stay there
We’re not long back from a glorious two weeks in Maison Cruzy. 10 of us in total (aged 7 – 77), really tested the capacity of the house – amazingly it didn’t feel at all cramped, though you will of course have to plan a little as to who goes where. For all the chefs, the kitchen is very well equipped, ready for the wonderful produce of local markets. If there’s anyone who can’t survive without good wifi, you won’t have to worry about withdrawal symptoms. We spent a lot of time enjoying the wonderful pool area, but the barn was a huge hit with the children (old and young), with so much to do there when the sun got a little too hot. The village itself is very quiet with a good bakery and butcher, but a car is essential. There’s a lovely restaurant (Le Terminus) about 20 mins easy walk out of town. We thoroughly enjoyed our day trips to Roquebrun for river kayaking , mediterranean garden, and great family lunch (and views) at le Petit venice. Gorge d’Heric is definitely worth at least one visit (more if you’ve time). Minervois is stunning, St.Chinian market really good for picnic fare, Beziers has its own charm, Champs Blanc vineyard was sampled and approved of but no doubt there are many great ones, and some of us had a wonderful time horseriding near Bize Minervois (L’Appaloosa – lovely people) while others preferred bathing in the river there. Paddy and Emer were really helpful to us with information before we got there, and their man on the ground, Miles, could not have been more helpful and unobtrusive. The house has great old style Languedoc charm, with lots of original features. The inner courtyard table is a great family hub for happy nights watching the swallows/swifts with a nice glass. Treat yourself!”

“Absolutely beautiful home from home!
We stayed here for a week with 3 adults and 2 children aged 6&7, the house was fantastic for us. We were spoilt for choice with the number of bedrooms, and bathrooms, all delightfully presented and very clean. This is a stunning French property and you can’t help but admire it when you stay here. The owners kindly leave it very well equipped, everything you need is at hand, the kitchen has a great big dining table and leads straight onto an enclosed courtyard with another large dining table, just perfect for evenings spent catering for yourselves. The pool is a great size for kids with plenty of space around it for them to play, and the barn are was wonderful, a safe area locked from the pool where again the owners kindly leave plenty of games and toys for use during your stay. Can’t fault it at all!!!
Beaches we went to from here were Valras Plage and Serignan Plage, both lovely in June, I understand Valras Plage becomes rather busy in high season. We ate at La Sallette in Bize (on the main road back towards Carcassonne) and had a great meal, and Les Grand Buffets in Narbonne is well worth a visit for a fantastic all you can eat buffet! We went to Carcassonne on the one cloudy day we had and visited the castle, ramparts and medieval city, again well worth a trip.
Lovely house, made for a lovely holiday!”

“Terrific accomodation for our family of 4
Despite the unusually chilly weather, we had a wonderful family holiday at Maison Cruzy in May. The house met all of our needs very well in terms of comfort, location, space and style. All the basics were covered off beautifully: beds were comfortable, linens were lovely, rooms were spacious and bathrooms modern and well designed. The barn was a saving grace for our boys on rainy days. The village was interesting and no more than a 10 minute walk away are paths that crisscross gently rolling vineyards. We appreciated the architecture of the house and had memorable meals in the courtyard. When the warm weather arrived, the pool was terrific. The owner’s assistant in the village was very helpful and we appreciated his efficient but warm welcome. We stayed for a week. Maison Cruzy would also be an excellent base for a longer holiday – there is so much to do. We easily travelled to Carcassone, l’Abbaye Fontfroide (beautiful, a good place for lunch), les Gaufres Cabrespine (very cool cave), Minerve and Narbonne. The countryside was gorgeous. So all in all, a great place to stay: style, comfort, space, traditional but sensitively restored architecture, loads of fun and learning for the kids, all without spending a fortune on accommodation.”

“Beautiful House with all you require for the ultimate french exp
We were tipped off about this house by another couple who stayed there last Year. It is right in the centre of everything, Surrounded by Vineyards and down the road from the canal du Midi and the lovely village of Saint Chinian. Narbonne is 25 minutes away as are the beaches. We fell in love with the beautiful courtyard where we dined every day under the Langeudoc Sky. Its a stargazers Paradise. There is an enclosed pool with plenty of chairs and loungers and it is fantastic for children. There is plenty of bikes if you wish to on a spin(highly recommended). The house is beautifully furnished and is very comfortable (it even had Satellite and WiFi !). Bakery,Pharmacy and convenience store are within walking distance. It ticked all the boxs. Book it!”

Had a great holiday in Maison Cruzy in June. Fab house with everything you would need for a holiday ( lilos & deck chairs for chilling out by the great pool and bikes & rackets for more active day trips ). Loads of places to go & see along with lovely restaurants. Shopping close by in Narbonne or St Chinian Market. Make sure to check out the village boulangerie. Can’t wait for our next trip. Thanks also to Paddy & Emer for all the tips which helped make it a genuine French experience.

‘Found this little piece of paradise in the picturesque village in beautiful france. It is a credit to Paddy and Emer what they have done here. Amazing. We spent 10 fantastic days in Cruzy and the kids could have stayed 100 more. What a holiday. We’ll definitely be back’.
